The boiler electrode water level sensor is a detection device that uses the electrical conductivity of liquids to monitor the water level inside the boiler. It works by using water as a conductor to complete or break the circuit, thereby detecting changes in water levels.

1.Structure and Composition

The electrode water level sensor typically consists of a sealed cylinder with electrode rods of varying lengths inside. These electrode rods correspond to different water levels. One end of the electrode rod is secured to the end plate via a screw plug, and an insulating sleeve is placed between the electrode rod and the screw plug to ensure electrical isolation.

2. Working process

Water level rise: When the water level in the boiler rises, the water will contact the shorter electrode rod. Because the water has a certain conductivity, when the water contacts the electrode rod, a closed circuit will be formed between the electrode rod and the common end.

Water level drop: Conversely, when the water level drops, the surface of the water gradually leaves the longer electrode rod, resulting in the corresponding circuit being disconnected.

Signal output: According to the closed or open state of the circuit, the sensor can transmit signals reflecting the current water level change. These signals can be further processed for display, alarm or control the start and stop of the pump motor.

3. Features

Automatic control function: The system can automatically control the start and stop of the pump motor according to the water level of the boiler, so that the water level in the boiler always keeps within the normal range.

Alarm mechanism: If the boiler is short of water or full of water due to some factors, the system will issue an alarm in time (such as ringing the alarm bell and lighting the alarm light) to remind the operator to pay attention and take measures.

4. Application areas

This type of sensor is widely used in various industrial settings, such as water plants, refineries, chemical plants, glass factories, and sewage treatment facilities. It is used to monitor the liquid levels in water supply tanks, distribution tanks, water treatment tanks, wells, water tanks, and other containers.

In summary, the boiler electrode water level sensor achieves complex and precise water level monitoring through simple physical principles, playing a crucial role in ensuring the safe operation of boilers.
